As the first Voiceoffootball columnist
from the Write On initiative, Jack Brazier has a very special
place in the hearts of everyone at Voiceoffootball.com, and judging
by the readership of his column you’re all big fans too.
So, who is Jack, why Write On, and what are
the footballing thoughts of the man from Surrey who maintains professionalism
in the face of the trials and tribulations of his beloved QPR?
Name: Jack Brazier
Occupation: Student and Voiceoffootball
columnist
First football match you saw: QPR
V Nottingham Forest – 1992/93 (We won 4-3 I think!)
Sum up being a QPR fan: Being
a Rangers supporter is the root cause of my jealousy of other clubs
and the link between insanity and myself. But for some reason the
club is in my heart and I’ll be Rangers ‘til I die!
What do you like best about writing
for Voiceoffootball? I like having the opportunity to
share my thoughts with people and to hopefully entertain them.
If you could change one thing in football
what would it be? Chelsea’s bank balance closely
followed by Rob Styles’ employment status.
Any funny footballing anecdotes to
share with your fans: My cousin and I were at Loftus
Road one freezing day not so long ago, waiting for the game to
start so we could subject ourselves to “the QPR effect”,
and I had forgotten my watch. I turned around to a fellow idiot
and asked the time. Instead of telling me, he told me what he
did for a living, how tired he was and how his grandmother’s
recuperation from a hip operation was coming along. My cousin
still laughs at me about it today, and I never did discover the
time!
Most mischievous transfer rumour you’ve
ever heard: Ledley King to Arsenal
Who do you have the greatest admiration
for in football? Les Ferdinand. Sir Les is a QPR legend
and is the best striker I’ve seen since I’ve been
a Ranger.
Sum up your love of the beautiful
game: My love of football is insatiable; I play it,
I talk about it, I watch it and it gives me something to write
about every week. It is an international language and the hobby
of millions; inspirational and heartbreaking all at the same
time.
